desert hands, dublin heart

i am one part desert,
parched dirt and
lizard blood
the deep, sweeping
sigh
of the contented
wholly empty

i am one part isle,
rolling green and
charcoal squall
bogged with tears
ripe with words
plucked from
a tugging, wanting
wind

i am
the east and west of separate lands
and one forgets

             the other

forgets i am
the cincturing sky
and

adjoining sea
