power cut
woke up in a windstorm
roar and rattle in a
pre-dawn chill
walls react like thunder cracks
floor shakes as if in earthquake
maybe i awoke the mountain's ghosts
pawing through their canyon
they recognised my stony smile
have come howling
to reclaim me
take my bones for creature shelter
my flesh for soil's feast
reroute my blood to a calmer stream
reset my pulse
to a slower beat
